Modern Slavery Statement

Man with Van Bellingham Modern Slavery Statement

This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Man with Van Bellingham is taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery does not occur within our business.

Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy

Man with Van Bellingham has a clear zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. This includes forced labour, debt bondage, child labour, servitude, and any form of exploitation where a person cannot refuse or leave work due to threats, violence, coercion, abuse of power, or deception.

Every person working for or on behalf of Man with Van Bellingham, whether as an employee, contractor, agency worker, or supplier, is expected to uphold this policy. We will not knowingly engage with any business or individual involved in modern slavery or human trafficking and reserve the right to terminate relationships with any party found to be in breach of our standards.

Our Business and Supply Chains

Man with Van Bellingham provides transport and moving services to residential and commercial customers. While our direct workforce is relatively small and locally based, we recognise that risks may exist in indirect supply chains, including vehicle hire, fuel, equipment, uniforms, cleaning services, and subcontracted labour.

We are committed to understanding these risks and ensuring that our partners and suppliers share our commitment to ethical labour practices and respect for human rights.

Supplier Due Diligence and Audits

We conduct due diligence on key suppliers and contractors before entering or renewing business relationships. As part of this process, we expect suppliers to confirm that they comply with applicable labour laws and that they have measures in place to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking.

Where appropriate and proportionate to the level of risk, we will:

Review supplier policies and statements on modern slavery and ethical conduct.

Ask suppliers to explain how they manage labour and human rights risks in their own operations and supply chains.

Request evidence of right-to-work checks and fair employment practices.

Conduct audits or spot checks, which may include site visits or document reviews, to verify compliance with our standards.

If a supplier fails to provide adequate assurance or is found to be in breach of our expectations, we will seek corrective action within a defined timeframe. Where issues are not resolved to our satisfaction, we may suspend or terminate the relationship.

Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels

Man with Van Bellingham encourages anyone with concerns about modern slavery or unethical labour practices connected to our business to speak up. Concerns may relate to our own operations, suppliers, subcontractors, or any individual working on our behalf.

Reports can be made to a manager or senior member of the business in person or in writing. All concerns raised in good faith will be taken seriously and investigated promptly and sensitively. We will not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise concerns or assist in investigations.

Where appropriate, we will cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies and relevant authorities and will support affected individuals to access appropriate help and protection.

Training and Awareness

We are working to increase awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff and key contractors. This includes explaining the signs of exploitation, outlining our zero-tolerance policy, and clarifying how to report concerns. As our business grows, we will continue to strengthen our training and procedures to reflect evolving best practice.

Continuous Improvement and Annual Review

Man with Van Bellingham recognises that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We are committed to reviewing and improving our approach on a regular basis to ensure it remains effective, proportionate, and aligned with legal requirements and industry standards.

This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least once every 12 months by the leadership of Man with Van Bellingham. The annual review will consider changes in our business, emerging risks in our supply chains, feedback from stakeholders, and any incidents or concerns raised. Where necessary, we will update our policies, supplier requirements, training, and auditing processes.

This statement reflects the position and commitment of Man with Van Bellingham in relation to modern slavery and human trafficking and applies to all aspects of our operations and supply chains.
